Winfred Lee Romine, 82, passed away on February 2, 2022. He was born on June 16, 1939, in Arcadia, TX, to parents Joe and Drucilla Romine.
Lee was the definition of a remarkable man who truly left his mark on the world. He retired as a Superintendent after over 20 years with Marek Brothers, helping construct skyscrapers all over the Dallas-Fort Worth skylines. After moving from Lewisville to Mabank, he spent many dedicated years to Henderson County, creating a historical marker for Pauline, TX, and serving as President and then Vice President of Goshen Cemetery over the past several years.
Lee was such a provider, but in his spare time, he truly enjoyed spending time with his dogs, fishing in Bass tournaments, and hunting at the Deer Lease before moving to Mabank. Lee always had a soft spot for animals in need and took in numerous strays throughout his lifetime, very rarely saying no. Lee was a man of principles, with a kind and caring soul, that was the rock of his family and will forever be missed.
Lee is survived by children Donna Romine, Debra Kay Romine, and Joseph Lee Romine; five grandchildren Marshall and wife Krissy, Crystal and husband Jermaine, Jenny and husband Olayinka, Tyler and wife Victoria, and Edward Vann; seven great-grandchildren Alex, Jordyn, Brielle, KayLee, Kai, Gavin, and Liana; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 63 years, Helen Romine, his brothers Lorin Romine and Joseph Wayne Romine, and sisters Lois Fay Kirkpatrick and Jewell Delacruz.
