William “Bill” Sidney Rudolph Jr.

William “Bill” Sidney Rudolph Jr., 88 of Gun Barrel City, Texas passed away with his loved ones at his side on July 31, 2018.  He was born on April 8, 1930 in Frisco, Texas to the home of William Sidney & Rosa Pittman Rudolph Sr.

“Bill” as all his family and friends knew him attended school in McKinney, Texas.  After school he joined the United States Army and served our country for 2 years.  While in the Army he spent time overseas  in Germany.  Along the way he married his soul mate, Billie Jean North Rudolph on December 28, 1950.  In Bill’s spare time he enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, but mostly he truly cherished spending time with his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Billie Jean Rudolph; brothers Weldon Rudolph & his wife Betty, Leon Rudolph; sisters Virgie Pardue, Joyce Scarborough and Sara Thomas; sister in law Geneva Rudolph; children Jerry Rudolph & his wife Danette, Mark Rudolph & his wife Erika and Kathleen Rains & her husband Mike; grandchildren Kurt, Natalie, Collin, Jennica, Shannon, Rebecca, Emily and Courtney; great – grandchildren Maurquice, Malyk, Stevyn, Samantha, Cloey, Cash, Harper and Jaxon; and great – great grandchild Marcus.  He also has many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.  Bill will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wilburn Rudloph, Elmer Rudolph & his wife Mae Rudloph; sisters Kathreen Rice, Dora Stice & her husband T. J., Velta Bone, Leoma Bray & her husband David Bray, Geneva Stapleford & her husband Bob; brothers in law Leon Pardue, Lonnie Scarborough, William Thomas; sister in law Patsy Rudolph.

Rev. George Yarger with Harbor Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City, Texas and Rev. Kelly Wolverton with Hampton Road Baptist Church in DeSoto, Texas will officiate for the Rudolph family.
