William Marvin Rogers, Jr. was born September 8, 1933, in Venus, Texas. He was the first child of William Marvin Rogers, Sr. and Gladys Louise (Hodges) Rogers. W.M., at the age of 90, passed away the evening of April 22, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. 

W.M. was a proud Korean War and Navy veteran and our hero. W.M. owned several businesses during his life and was a huge car enthusiast. There was not a motor he couldn’t fix or a problem he couldn’t solve. He was a certified scuba diver and toured the world 3 times. He would love to tell stories of all the places he traveled and adventures he took. 

W.M. was preceded in death by his parents William, Sr. and Gladys Rogers; his wife, Francis Marie Rogers; brother-in-law, Jim Hukill; nephew, Jamie Hukill; and son-in-law, Kevin Shaffner.

W.M. is survived by his daughter, Melody Savage and husband Rick; son, William Rogers III; daughter, Kathleen Rogers; grandchildren:  Crystal Shaffner, Amanda Galvez and husband Michael Blake Davidson, Jennifer Rogers, Michelle Rogers, Christina Rogers; great-grandchildren: Candace Donaghey, Cody Donaghey, Mason Shaffner, Cassidy Donaghey, Cierra Donaghey, Chris Rogers, Brittney Rogers, Makayla Davidson, Lennox Davidson, Jack and MacKenzie Rogers, Kaylie, and Kailonie Rogers; Aiden Rogers-Walker;  sister, Barbara Harwell and husband Elton of Athens, Georgia; sister, Sandra Hukill of Springtown, Texas; sister, Rita K. LeMond and husband Cecil of Decatur, Texas; nephews, Skip Harwell and wife Bonnie, Jeff Harwell, Jeff Reimert and wife Stacy; nieces, Kim Kasper and husband Mark, Pam Smith and husband Tony, and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces. W.M. has 13 great-great-grandchildren that he loved spending time with and will be greatly missed. 

The family will be having a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Moorhead Funeral Home. Visitation is at 12:00pm, funeral service is at 1:00pm, followed by a committal service at Goshen Cemetery in Eustace, Texas.
