William Allen Ewing, Jr., fondly known as “Wild Bill,” brought joy to those around him and a spirit of adventure that was infectious. He dedicated his career as a Maintenance Manager at Days Inn and later served the community as part of the maintenance team at Mabank ISD, proving himself to be a capable builder and fixer of anything that needed attention.
An alumnus of Grand Prairie High School and Texas Beauty College, William was a man of many talents. He taught his children how to work on cars and handle repairs around the house, serving as their confidant, counselor, and a voice of reason throughout their lives. His daughter, Amanda, benefited from his wisdom as they built two houses together, a testament to the bond they shared.
Beyond his hands-on skills, William had a heart full of love for his family and faith in God. He was actively involved in his church, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. He often prayed for his family, always expressing his pride in them. His love extended beyond humans; William had a soft spot for animals, rescuing everything from squirrels to birds to a possum.
William was also a doting grandfather, attending the births of several grandchildren and teaching them essential life skills for survival as adults. He balanced a fun-loving personality with a sincere commitment to those he loved.
