William "Bill" Eaton, 84, of Gun Barrel City, TX, passed away on November 20, 2023. William was born on July 17, 1939, to Charles and Velma (Thomas) Eaton in Arkansas City, KS.
Bill was known for his vibrant personality and zest for life. His infectious laughter could fill a room, and he had an uncanny ability to uplift the spirits of those around him. A natural entertainer, Bill had a knack for cracking jokes and doing spot-on impressions that would leave everyone in stitches. His sharp wit and comedic timing were unmatched.
One of Bill's greatest passions was fishing. He found solace in spending long hours by the water's edge, patiently waiting for the perfect catch. As a skilled bass fisherman, he thrived in the tranquility of nature and often shared his fishing adventures with friends and family. When Bill wasn't casting lines or reeling in big catches, he could be found at the local pool hall, demonstrating his finesse with a cue stick.
Music held a special place in Bill's heart. He adored blues and rock and roll—genres that spoke to his soul. When he was singing along to his favorite tunes, his passion for music radiated through every chord he belted out. Bill's melodic voice enchanted all those fortunate enough to listen. Bill’s love for dance was matched only by his love for music. With rhythm in his bones, he effortlessly glided across dance floors and brought joy to any gathering. Whether it was slow dances or energetic jives, he enchanted everyone with his smooth moves and infectious enthusiasm. Bill's infectious energy made him the life of every party he attended.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Velma Eaton; son, Billy Eaton; son, Donnie Eaton; and stepfather, Bill Stewart.
Bill is survived by his longtime friend and companion, Carol Stephens of Gun Barrel City TX; daughter, Angela; and brother, Bob Eaton of New York, NY; as well as numerous other family and friends.
