Wiley Freeman Rickerson

Wiley (Rick) Freeman Rickerson, 80, passed away on March 17, 2022.  He was born on April 4, 1941, in Durant, Oklahoma, to parents Leslie Rickerson and Iraella Stark Rickerson.

The love of his life was his wife and 20 grandchildren.  Not one of them was more special than the others.  Rick was a member of First Baptist Church of Tool for many years and enjoyed the fellowship with his church family.  He liked to cook, mow his yard, clean the car, but most of all, he liked football.  The Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma-Texas rivalry were the highlights of the season.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Christine Tarkington Rickerson; children Tina Jimenez and husband Luis, Cheryl Phillips and husband Ronnie, and Scott Hinkle and wife Angela; 10 grandchildren Morgan Greer, Christopher Jimenez, Ryan Jimenez, Tristan Looper, Taryn Phillips, Zachary Hinkle, Jessica Hinkle, Joshua Hinkle, Abigail Gray, and Nicholas Hinkle; 10 great-grandchildren; several adopted brothers and sisters because he claimed Christine’s family as his own; niece Suzan Vincent; and nephew Darrell Hopkins.

Rick is preceded in death by his father Leslie Rickerson, mother Iraella Rickerson, and sister Mary Hopkins.

Pastor Rocky Weatherford, with First Baptist Church of Tool, Texas, will officiate for the Rickerson family.
