Virginia Irene Smith

Virginia Irene Smith, 77, passed away on September 2, 2023, at her home in Mabank, Texas. She was born on January 13, 1946, in Northfield, New Jersey to parents Emory Green and June Lorene (Payton) Stevens.

Virginia was an incredibly gifted artist, with a passion for drawing. Her artwork was a testament to her immense talent and imagination. Not only did Virginia show exceptional artistic skills, but she also had a keen intellect. As a member of MENSA, she showcased her brilliant mind and dedication to knowledge. Her thirst for learning knew no bounds, and she embraced intellectual pursuits with enthusiasm.

One of Virginia's proudest accomplishments was her talent for poetry. She poured her heart and soul into penning verses that touched the hearts of readers worldwide. Her book of poetic works became available on Amazon, touching the lives of many through heartfelt words that resonated deeply within their souls.

Those lucky enough to share laughter with her knew that her uplifting spirit was contagious. She was known for being a funny person with a great personality. Throughout her journey, Virginia taught us valuable lessons about love, creativity, and cherishing every moment we are given. Her compassionate nature touched the lives of those around her profoundly.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Emory and June Stevens, and husband, Jimmy Dale Smith.

Virginia is survived by her son, Payton Rezaie of Ft. Worth, TX; daughter, Yvette Cano of Mabank, TX; aunt, Cleta Mullins of El Reno, OK; aunt, Laverne Muir of El Reno, OK; cousin, David Stevens of New Jersey; sister, Billie Jo and husband Dennis of Mesquite, TX;  beloved friend, Becky Grimes of Gun Barrel City, TX; her beloved cats: Tank and Tucker, grand pup Butters, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family.
