Verna Lorene Potter, of Tool, TX, was born on January 18, 1925 in Pikeville, TN. to the home of Tom Pearson and Etta Smith Pearson and passed away on January 22, 2014. She is preceded in death by her siblings Flora A. Pearson, Virgil R. Pearson, Mayme Pearson, Lear Pearson, Cecil Benton Pearson, Clara Nancy Ann Pearson, Fred Winford Pearson, and Thomas Euene Pearson; husbands Dillard Smithers and Raymond Potter. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons Billy H. Smithers and his wife Darlene of Weatherford, TX, Dillard "Jack" Smithers, Jr. and his wife Catherine of Trinidad, TX and Jimmy A. Smithers and his wife Lizbeth of Tool, TX.; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at a later date with interment at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery under the direction of Moorhead Epps Funeral Home.
