Travis Earl Lloyd, 80, went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2021, at his home. He was born on March 27, 1941, in Rusk, Texas, to Hugh Lester and Ottis Mandy Lloyd.
Travis married his childhood sweetheart, Elizabeth, on June 4, 1960. He retired from General Electric, as a service technician, after 26 years. His passion was playing the guitar, harmonica, singing, and writing songs to praise the Lord. He loved his church, Liberty Baptist, and also Wednesdays leading songs at the nursing home. His love for Jesus Christ, family, and friends was always given with his whole heart and soul. In his battle with cancer, he spent his time making sure everyone around him was ok. That’s just the man he was. He loved his western shows and watching wheel of fortune. He always had a big smile, eyes shining so blue, and his wonderful laugh. He loved to talk about how God was so good and how sweet it was going to be to walk the streets of gold. He also couldn’t stress enough how he loved everyone so much (even Rachel Ray, but not her dog food.) He will be missed but forever will live on in our hearts.
He is preceded in death by his father Hugh Lester Lloyd, his mother Ottis Mandy Langston, brother Donald Lloyd, and sister Janice Casbeer.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Elizabeth Lloyd; his children, daughters Alice and husband Bill Coleman, Sammie Cody and husband Travis Alford, Heaven Henson and son Travis Lloyd. He was also affectionately known as Papaw by his grandchildren Kortnie Henson, Shane Cody, Jazz Woods, Miranda Galvin and TJ Lloyd and Barron Coleman; great-grandchildren Curtis Wilson, Paige Wilson, Tessa Wilson, Brayden Woods, and Cooper Woods. Arriving soon Camilla Violet; sister Dwana Jackson; brother Wayne Lloyd and brother Marvin and Brinda Lloyd; numerous nieces and nephews.
