Tommy Ray (Poppa) Chasteen was born June 3rd 1941 to Melvin Matthew and Lily Pearl Chasteen in Brownwood, Texas. He married his wife of 50 years, Shirley on December 31, 1965. Tommy worked for Dallas Independent School District, as a plumbing supervisor for 23 years until retirement. He attended church at Aley Family Worship Center in Seven Points where he taught Sunday School, lead Bible Study, Preached at every opportunity, played his guitar and sang in the worship service. He left us on August 9, 2016 in Mabank, Texas
Tommy is survived by his wife Shirley; his daughters Delissa Bryce and her husband Jeff; Angie George and her husband Jamie; sons Tommy Chasteen Jr. and James Simons. Grandchildren; Michelle, Sarah, Macy, Trevor, Brittany, Brandon, Jennifer, Ashley, Justin, Bailey, Little Michell, Angela, Jason, James and Jacob. And a whole mess of great grand kids.
The family would also like to recognize Shirley Irvin as a God send and a blessing, without whom we could not have made it through the last few months.
Greatly loved and respected, Tommy will be dearly missed by all who knew him. But greatly envied by those who know where his is…
Visitation is Friday, August 12, 2016 from 6-8 P.M. at Moorhead Epps Funeral Home
Funeral is Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Aley Family Worship Center in Seven Points, TX.
Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
