Thomas Samuel Epps

Thomas Samuel Epps was born on January 18, 1971, in Dallas, Texas, to John and Angelene (Vicki) Epps.  Sam attended school in Dallas until 1985, at which time the family moved to Gun Barrel City.  Sam graduated from Mabank High School in 1989 and attended East Texas Baptist University at Marshall.  Sam followed his dreams to work as a freelance photographer, having stories and photos published in several local news publications.  Sam owned and operated Sam Epps Photography until his passing.  Sam was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2020 and fought a hard battle until he was called home on June 18, 2021, at the young age of 50.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents John H. Epps, Sr. and Angelene (Vicki) Epps; grandparents Robert S. Davis and Elizabeth Ferguson Davis, Garnett A. and Freddie Adams Epps.

He is survived by brothers John H. (Lita) Epps, Jr. and Andrew C. Epps; nephew James A. Epps; and extended family and friends.
