For 28 years, Terry dedicated himself to his career as a truck driver, demonstrating an impressive work ethic that made him a reliable presence in the lives of those with whom he worked. He was the kind of man who would go the extra mile, ensuring that others were well taken care of, whether that meant lending a helping hand at work or simply being there for family and friends.
With a smile that could light up a room, Terry was known for his happy demeanor and a stubborn streak that could rival any mule. His laughter and positivity were infectious, creating a sense of warmth that drew people to him.
Terry had a passion for the outdoors. He cherished his time fishing and boating, delighting in the simple pleasures of camping with his loved ones. There was nothing quite like a cold beer in hand while enjoying the beauty of nature during the spring and summer months. He found immense joy and fulfillment in these moments.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorthy Matheson; sisters, Patsy Odom, Janie Davis, and Midge Gervers; sister, Sissy and husband Tony Fisher; brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Tracy Matheson; and former wife, Linda Matheson.
Terry is survived by his wife Cobie Matheson of Gun Barrel City, Texas; brother, James Matheson Jr., and wife Cindy of Canton, Texas; sister, Glenda and husband Lee Maddison of Dallas, Texas; son, John Matheson and wife Joei of Eustace, Texas; daughter, Teresa Matheson and husband Connor of Murchison, Texas; son, Daniel Dennis of Gun Barrel City, Texas; daughter, Jesse Dennis of Gun Barrel City, Texas; grandson, Zackery Sellars and wife Melissa of Tyler, Texas; grandson, Ethan Matheson of Murchison, Texas; great- grandson, Liam Sellars and Justice Bolin, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, family, friends, and loved ones.
