Teresa Louise (Almand) Jennings

Teresa Louise (Almand) Jennings was born on January 13, 1961, in Dallas, Texas to Arthur Bernice and Lillie Mae Almand. She was the youngest of 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Teresa grew up in the Lancaster and Desoto area where she met and married Michael (Mike) Eugene Jennings, Sr. on November28, 1977. Teresa worked many years managing BBQ restaurants. When the workday was done, Teresa enjoyed throwing darts, shooting pool, and drinking with family and friends. She was good at all three, winning many local tournaments. She also enjoyed fishing and watching horror movies.

In 2008, Teresa moved to Payne Springs, Texas with her husband, Mike. When Mike passed away in 2015, Teresa relied on whiskey and her furbaby Dodge Eugene Jennings to make it through the next couple of years. The birth of her granddaughter Selma Eugene in 2017 changed Teresa’s way of life. From then on, the only bottle she reached for was a baby bottle. The next 6 years were devoted to caring for Selma Eugene.

Then on December 7, 2023, the call Teresa had been waiting for finally came. It was her sister Virginia Beth Applin, calling Teresa to join her and her parents, Arthur and Lillie Almand; husband, Michael Eugene Jennings, Sr.; grandparents, Ernest and Selma Otto; brother, James Wesley Almand, Sr.; sister, Alice Faye Smitherman; sister, Sandra Borden; sister, Doris Crow; sister-in-law, Sue Roberts; sister-in-law, Dorothy Harrington; grandson, Tristan Stormy Lane Black; nephew, James Robert Smitherman; nephew, Jeffery Michael Smitherman; and great-niece, Kaylie Annette Mosely on their journey “out of town.”

Teresa doesn’t want anyone to be sad or cry over her departure because she will be alright and when she has time, she will call her daughter, Michelle Eugene Jennings and Kenneth Dixson, Jr. of Payne Springs, Texas; son, Michael Eugene Jennings II and Ashley Dooley of Payne Springs, Texas; son, Christopher Aaron Almand of Payne Springs, Texas; stepdaughter, Harlie Elizabeth Jennings of Irving, Texas; daughter-in-law, Tonya Jennings of Texas City, Texas; grandchildren, Selma Eugene Jennings of Payne Springs, Texas; Jonathan Michael Eugene Jennings and wife Kelsey of Mabank, Texas; James Douglas Larson and wife Cassie of Chatham, New Jersey; Brandon Wayne Black of Jena, Louisiana; Selma Eugene Jennings of Payne Springs, Texas; Dylan Eugene Jennings and wife Jade of Texas City, Texas; Colton Covington of Texas City, Texas; Britney Almand of Texas City, Texas; Jacob Almand of Texas City, Texas; Cassondra Robles of Texas City, Texas; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Michael Eugene Jennings of Mabank, Texas; Hope Ann Eugene Jennings of Texas City, Texas; brother, Gene Ray Almand and wife Shelly of Mabank, Texas; brother, John Paul Almand, Sr. of Payne Springs, Texas; sister, Debra Annette Mosely of Terrell, Texas; brother-in-law, Douglas Ray Applin of Ryan, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Tommy Smitherman of Payne Springs, Texas; brother-in-law, James Dewey Mosely of Terrell, Texas;  nieces and nephews, Kristie Smitherman of Mabank, Texas; Daniel Applin of Ryan, Oklahoma;  Wendy Applin of Payne Springs, Texas; Jina Johnson of Rogers, Arkansas; Kimberly Almand of Rogers, Arkansas; Jamie Almand of Rogers, Arkansas; James Wesley Almand Jr of Rogers, Arkansas; J.B.
