Susan Marie Murphy

Susan Marie Murphy, 66, passed away on September 13, 2022.  She was born on April 8, 1956, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to parents Lawrence Patrick Kennedy and Ruth Marie Tinjum Kennedy.

Susan was a dog groomer by trade with a long list of clients.  She was one of the best in the business with many distinguished well-known clients.  She loved her work, co-workers, and of course, all the animals she groomed over the years.

Susan spent most of her life staring at the world from the back of a horse.  This love was her sense of tranquility and serenity.  Her love of horses led her to meet many wonderful people in her life, friendships she cherished daily.  While she had many horses, her most recent horse, Scooter, was her most prized possession.  They had a connection that seemed to be heaven sent.

The most common sentiment when people describe Susan is, “she was a kind and loving soul who will be dearly missed.”  Her memory will be poignantly prominent for the remainder of our days.

Susan is survived by her mother, Ruth Currid; son Christopher Kennedy and wife Sonya; grandchildren Ethan Grimes and wife Ashley, Logan Grimes, Makayla Kennedy-Hodges, Sydni Brooks-Kennedy, and Oak Kennedy; great-grandchildren Keith Grimes, Addison Grimes, Maddison Grimes, and Justyn Hodges; brothers Tim Baker and wife Lisa, and Jason Baker; sisters Laura Cormier and husband Brent, and Kim Kennedy; and numerous other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Patrick Kennedy; her husband of 34 years, Ronald Murphy; and granddaughters Kirby Grimes, and Krysta Kennedy.
