Stevie Joe Smith, 70, passed away on January 19, 2021. He was born in Antlers, OK, on April 24, 1950.
Stevie Joe was a kind and gentle man but never sugar-coated anything. He was known for his lack of patience, not holding back his opinion, and had a knack for telling it like it is. He always told the truth, even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. You always knew where you stood with him; he either liked you or he didn’t. As his children, we are still trying to figure out which one it was (we know he loves us, lol.) He loved our mother more than anything else in this world and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Although he worked many years in the construction industry, he also made a name for himself in the fishing world. Fishing was his greatest passion, and man, did he make one hell of a network of friends along the way! For all who knew and loved our Dad, Stevie Joe, we have lost a LEGEND!
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Trudy Lynn Smith; children Charity Smith, Ginger Droke and husband Steve, and Alan Smith and wife Candise; grandchildren Jessica Jones and husband Matt, Tyler Crum and wife Karla, Alexis Droke, Ashley Smith, Ashton Smith, Kirstie Smith, Emily Hill, Brett Smith, and Stetson Smith; great-grandchildren Eden Jones, Leo Chariez, Elliott Crum, and Noah Crum; brother Scottie Smith and wife Marianne; sister Marsha Lankford and husband Raymond; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Stevie is preceded in death by his father Norman Smith; mother Imojean Smith; brothers Robert Smith and David Smith.
