Steven L. Webster 1942 - 2013 Of Gun Barrel City, Texas was born September 5, 1942, in Richmond Virginia, and passed away on July 25, 2013, at the age of 70. Webster served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant in 1966 - 1968. Steven graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Business degree in Business Administration, and earned a Masters of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans. He has worked for textile manufacturer Burlington Industries, floor products distributor L.D. Brinkman Corp. and software provider UCCEL. Webster has served as president of North Texas Roofing Contractors of Texas and belongs to regional and national trade associations and various chambers of commerce, and also recently served on the Board of Directors of the Library of Cedar Creek Lake. Steven served on the Gun Barrel City Economic Development Committee of Gun Barrel City since 2006 and served as President of EDC since 2008. Steve is the President and proprietor of Sun Commercial Roofing which he founded in 1989. Steven became a permanent resident of Gun Barrel City, Texas, in 2004, and served his community in the economic development of Gun Barrel City and generously contributed to multiple charitable events for Cedar Creek Lake. Steven loved the lake and being on the water with friends and family. He was blessed with a big heart, he enjoyed life to the fullest, had a great sense of humor, he was humble in his achievements, and he was adventurous. As a mentor to many, Steve was proud of the successes of others. He will always be remembered for his love of life and those around him, and for his devotion to his beloved wife Barbara for over 33 years. Steven loved the time spent with his family who will miss him dearly. Steven is survived by his wife Barbara, daughters Stacy Bowman, Susan Webster Devanney, and Shannon Dean; son-in-laws, Cliff Dean and David Devanney, and seven grandchildren, Craig Walker, Caleb Dean, Aubrey Dean, Beau Devanney, Kinsey Dean, Finn Devanney, and Everett Steven Dean. Steven is also survived by many beloved friends and his business family who contributed to the fullness of his life. Life is a gift; Steven touched so many and he will always be with us. We love you Steven Webster. A private memorial service will be held at the Webster's home on August 17, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in memory of Steven Webster to the Cedar Creek Library in Seven Points, Texas.
