Shirley Jo Chasteen, 73, passed away at home on December 20, 2021. She was born on March 28, 1948, in Mesquite, Texas, to parents James Melvin and Dorothy Merle Bradshaw.
Shirley married Tommy Ray Chasteen on December 31, 1965, and together they had three children: Delissa Kay, Tommy Ray, Jr., and Angelica Denice. She was, by the very definition, a virtuous woman, as described in the Bible. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and servant to all. At times, she worked outside the home as a seamstress, cook, and nutritional administrator for DISD. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, cooking, singing praise and worship, but most of all, spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, Tommy Ray Chasteen, Sr., sister Wanda Marsh, and brother Michael Bradshaw.
She is survived by children Delissa Bryce and husband Jeff, USAF (Retired) CMSgt. Tommy Chasteen, Jr. and wife Shirley, Angie George and husband Jamie, and Honorary daughter Keala Bonsal; grandchildren Michelle Braud and husband Alan, Sarah Bryce, Macy Bryce, USAF Cpt. Trevor Chasteen and wife Jessica, Peyton Irvin, Ethyn Irvin, Daltyn Irvin, Jennifer Foreman and husband DJ, Michell McCleskey and husband Justin, Brittany Esparza, Brandon Esparza, Ashley George, Justin George, and Bailey George; 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way; brothers David Bradshaw and wife Kim, Steven Bradshaw and wife Nancy, and Robin Bradshaw; sister Glenda Hanna.
Pastor Jeff Bryce with Aley Family Worship Center, in Seven Points, Texas, will officiate for the Chasteen family.
Pallbearers are Justin George, Tommy Chasteen, Trevor Chasteen, David Bradshaw, Robin Bradshaw, and Alan Braud.
