Samuel “Sam” Goodell

Samuel (“Sam”) Goodell (59) of Gun Barrel City, Texas passed away on December 13, 2017.  Sam was born December 8, 1958 in Terrell, Texas to the home of Tom Billy Goodell and Helen Stewart Goodell.  Sam was a 1977 graduate of Eustace High School where he made numerous friendships that would last his lifetime.

In 1997 Sam married the love of his life Patsy, and together they celebrated 20 amazing years of happiness on December 6, 2017.

After Sam graduated from High School he worked on the farm baling hay and digging sprigs and later he started driving a truck over the road.  Sam loved the beach, boating, cooking out on the grill and being with people.  Sam will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Sam is survived by his wife Patsy and her children, son Lance Birdsong and his wife Tammee from Little Elm, Texas, daughter Amy Pryor and her husband James from Mabank, Texas. His mother Helen Goodell, sister Donna Goodell, brother Thomas Goodell and his wife Brenda, sister-in-law Ladonna Davis.

His nieces and nephews include Sarah Jones, Hope Rodriguez, Samantha Woodard, Sunni Goodell, Raini Goodell, Shannon Allen and Nathan Davis.

Sam was preceded in death by his father Tom B. Goodell, brother Robert Stuart Davis, grandparents D.C. and Leona Morris Goodell, grandparents Sam and Lynette Stewart.

Danny Cope will officiate the memorial service for the Goodell family.
