Samuel Charles Franklin of Gun Barrel City, Texas passed away peacefully on September 7, 2017. He was born January 12, 1955 in Mabank, Texas to the home of Charlie & Ethell Mae Oliver Franklin. Samuel grew up with 3 sisters; Charlene Franklin, Mary A Franklin Hazel Franklin and 3 brothers; Charles Franklin Jr., Ellis Franklin & his wife Anita and Roy Franklin
Samuel graduated from Mabank High School. He worked for Mabank Packing House and Tech Form building smokers. He married his best friend Sabrina Cooper Franklin. He was blessed with 4 children; Samuel Franklin Jr., Colby Wade Franklin, Valerie Franklin and Nicole Franklin. Samuel just became a grandfather to a healthy grandson. He was a member of the Amazing Grace Church in Mabank, Texas. In Samuel’s spare time he enjoyed being outside fishing, reading books and cooking. But mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and a dear friend to many. Left to cherish Samuel’s memory are numerous family members and a host of friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Samuel is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Ellis Franklin & Roy Franklin and a sister; Hazel Franklin.
Rev. Margarell Bradford with Amazing Grace Church in Mabank, Texas will be officiating for the Franklin family.
