Samuel Louis "Sam" Rivenbark 81 of Athens was born in Pender, N.C. September 30, 1933 to the home of John Earnest Rivenbark and Mary Esther Hamilton Rivenbark and passed away in Tyler March 20, 2015. He was a Korean War veteran, a Merchant Marine and a retired boiler moker. He is preceded in death by a brother George Rivenbark, sisters Catherine Bocnet, Flora Cuiffreda, sister-in-law Loretta Rivenbark. Sam is survived by his wife Joyce Johnson Rivenbark, children Rebecca "Beca" Andrepont, and her husband Kyle, Tommy Alexander and his wife Kathy, Wendy Conley, Cindy Conley, Dawn Lewis and her husband Gene, Brad Conley, brothers J. Claude Rivenbark, Ray Rivenbark and his wife Edna Rae, sisters Florence Hover and her husband Harry, Bernice Hayden and her husband Richard, Faye Collier and her husband Benny, Gloria McIntyre, 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. Numerous other family members and many friends. Funeral services will be 12:00 Tuesday March 24, 2015 at the Moorhead Epps Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery in the Baxter Community.
