Samantha LaCha Steller

Samantha LaCha Steller, 42, of Gun Barrel City, TX passed away on August 2, 2024. Samantha was born on October 17, 1981, in Mesquite, Texas, to parents Frank and Glenda (Grimes) Hobbs.

Samantha was truly the life of the party, known for her sense of humor, outgoing nature, and boisterous laughter that could light up even the darkest of days. She had a unique personality that was entirely her own—a free spirit with a strong will and a heart of gold.

One of Samantha's passions in life was playing darts. She had a natural talent for the game and enjoyed the thrill of hitting bullseyes with precision and style. In addition to her love for darts, Samantha had a creative side that manifested in her hobby of revamping thrift store paintings. She would breathe new life into forgotten artwork, turning them into beautiful masterpieces that reflected her artistic eye.

An avid fan of thrift store shopping, Samantha found solace and excitement in scouring the shelves of places like the "G&W Boutique" (also known as Goodwill), where she would uncover hidden treasures and unique finds that brought a sparkle to her eye. 

Samantha’s vibrant spirit and infectious laughter illuminated the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her, she will be dearly missed. 

Samantha is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Steller; grandparents, Billy and Mary Grimes; grandparents, Haynes and Ruby Hobbs; niece, Kirby Grimes; niece, Jasmine Flanagan; uncle, Paul Fugitt; sisters, Tonya Hobbs and Amber Mixon.

Samantha is survived by her mom, Glenda Grimes; dad, Frank Hobbs and wife Teresa Hobbs; daughter, Tessa Steller and husband Tyler Johnson; daughter, Kayla Steller; son, Troy Steller; daughter, Novaleigh Steller; son, Zackary Steller; granddaughter, Shiloh Johnson; granddaughter, Isabelle Johnson; sister, Sonya Kennedy and husband Chris Kennedy; sister, Serena Hobbs; brother, Brody Grimes; nephew, Ethan Grimes; nephew, Logan Grimes; nephew, Oak Kennedy (Alton); niece, Ariel Angel and husband Erik Angel; nephew, Colton Hall and wife Amber Howard; niece, Ashley Grimes; niece, Ashley White; niece, Kandi Synder and husband Thomas Synder; nephew, Dustin White, niece, Heather Acton and husband Jared Acton; numerous other family, friends, and loved ones.
