Ruby Faye Athey

Ruby Faye Athey, 83, passed away on August 25, 2019 at home.  She was born on June 10, 1936 in West Columbia, Texas to the home of Franklin T. and Stella Fay Gibson.

She worked many different jobs during her lifetime.  She ran a Laundromat and became well known as a seamstress.  She owned her own cleaning business and her own barbeque restaurant.  She also worked for Hallmark, Baird Bakery and Dow Chemicals. In her spare time she enjoyed camping, gardening, and being outdoors.   She enjoyed eating seafood, especially crab legs.  Ruby loved her family and church family at Ennis United Penecostal Church.

She is survived by her children Brenda Gossett and husband Ronnie, Elton James and wife Leanne, Arnold James, Wally James and wife Beth, Dale Wesley James and wife Jolene, and Michael James; sister Christine McElveen and husband Cecil; many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and other siblings.

Ruby will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
