Robert Jack Chewning

Robert Jack Chewning, 66 of Gun Barrel City, Texas passed away on September 18, 2018.  He was born on December 26, 1951 in Irving, Texas the home of Billy Willidean & Mary Evelyn Wood Chewning.

Robert attended schools in Irving, Texas.  He joined the United States Army in December 1970.  After he returned from he worked at Sears in Dallas, Texas as a shipping receiving clerk.  In Robert’s spare time he enjoyed shoot pool, fishing and racing fast cars.  He truly cherished spending time with his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his sisters Janis Armstrong & Her husband Carl and Leah Barton & her husband Ronnie; his wife of 45 years Kathy Chewning; son Robert Jack Chewning Jr.; daughters Amber Elaine Chewning and Shawna Gail Chewning; and 9 grandchildren Chance Chewning, Angel Chewning, Katlynn Chewning, Caleb Guth, Savanna Guth, Cloey Guth, Kieran Goodnight, Preston Tucker and Allen Pritchard III; 2 great grandchildren Ivan Chewning and Asher Chewning; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.  Robert will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, brother Billy Wayne Chewning and a son James Walter Chewning.
