Robert Dale Megallon, 70, passed away on February 25, 2021. He was born on July 7, 1950, in Long Beach, California, to Thomas Aguilar and Eva Estelle Megallon.
Bob attended MacArthur High School and played football. Then it was off to the Job Corps. Growing up in Buena Park, CA, his family lived a block from Knotts Berry Farm. Bob spent every minute he could at the boxing museum. It was there he learned so much about boxing. He truly loved it and eventually became a Golden Glove Boxer and won the Golden Glove Heavyweight Champ title in 1966. On October 18, 1973, he married Janie, and they would have been married 48 years this year. Bob became a certified mechanic and was one of the best for over 30 years. He was a very motivated person and excelled at everything he did. When he moved to Palmer, he started raising a top bloodline of roosters. Bob had a golden heart and never had a problem making friends. Everyone always liked him. He was an amazing father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and friend. He was loyal, faithful, honest, and true to his word. He loved his family more than anything in life and especially enjoyed family BBQs and spending time with all his babies. He was a very strong and positive person and would always look for the best in any situation. Bob was a true legend who lived his life to the fullest and would want us to celebrate his accomplishments today. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by children Loretta Dawn Sherman, Robert James Megallon, and Jeremiah Dale Megallon of Payne Springs; Kari Aleja Rayford of California; grandson Austin James Megallon; granddaughter Rachel Elaine Coe; great-grandchildren Arianna Janie Lopez, Amaya Yvonne Lopez, and Bentley Edward Snyder; dad James Center of Cedarhill; mom Maria Megallon of California; sisters Teresa Fowler and Roxy Bennett of Venus, Patricia Megallon of California; brothers Timothy Center of Cedarhill and Thomas Megallon, Jr. of California; and many nephews and nieces.
