“Ms. Dolly,” our loved one -- Roberta Darlene Denson of Mabank, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at 4:50 pm, at the age of 72. She was born on March 29, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Henry Davis Eutsler and Tacy Roberta Matthews.
Roberta was married to Terry Lee Denson in October 1973. They lived in Germany and El Paso, TX, where she served the American Red Cross over a span of thirty years in different peace-time services, including caseworker and supervisor of the volunteers in Mainz, Germany. While in El Paso she started a Red Cross Clown Corp and compiled a history of the Red Cross. Her first clown name was pronounced “Arcie” formed with the American Red Cross letters, ARC.
They moved to Mabank in 1990 where she continued her creative Christian Clown Ministry as “Bobbie Balloon” and “Ms. Dolly.” Her love for the Lord was evident as she showed by example to love at all times. Her heart of gold was displayed in her smiles that were hard to match, and always reminding family and friends of how much she loved them.
She was exceptionally gifted in the art of balloons and face painting, visiting in hospitals, at fundraisers and at birthday parties at McDonald’s, Pizza Hut and in private homes. She led as an Activities Director in adult nursing homes in the area and was also a public advocate known as an Omsbudsman. Her hobbies included making crocheted hats for cancer patients; she learned to make many lovely gifts.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Timothy Robert John Henry Denson, and her twin brother, Richard Davis Eutsler.
