Richard “Ricky” Alan Davis was born on December 10, 1954, in Kaufman, Texas, to parents Jimmie Mack and Audrey ‘Faye’ Davis. Ricky, 67, passed away on August 14, 2022.
Ricky lived life to the fullest from his adolescence through adulthood. He was always independent and began mowing lawns when he was about nine, serving Crandall residents. As he put it, “he liked having his own money,” but his services stopped at mowing. He quickly let one customer know that he “didn’t do flower beds.” In his early adult years, he would put any money he had into the racecar and spent his weekends at the track. He always enjoyed building things with his hands and became a carpenter hobbyist later in life. He loved his kids and grandkids and encouraged them to do their best and celebrate their successes. One thing he believed above all was truth and honesty. He found peace in Scriptures and would not have wanted us to mourn but celebrate the fact he’s “with the Lord.”
Ricky is survived by his mother, Faye Mundie; daughter Megan Abernethy and husband Kevin; son Derek Davis and wife Shannon; grandchildren Matthew Davis, Richard ‘Richie’ Davis, and John Paul Davis; and nephew Jacob May.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Davis, and sister, Cindy May.
Jacob May will officiate for the Davis family.
