Richard Dale Richards

October 22, 1961 — October 28, 2021

Richard Dale Richards, 60, passed away on October 28, 2021, at 4:28 p.m. at Baylor Scott & White, in Waxahachie, Texas.  He was born on October 22, 1961, in Hartford, Texas, to Georgia P. Anderson and Richard E. Richards.

There are so many things that can be said about Dale, but what comes to mind is that he didn’t have friends because they were all family.  He had a heart of gold.  He lived hard and loved harder.  He did so much for everyone and never wanted anything in return but your company.   He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and building things.  He once wrote a note to Meredith that would touch anyone who read it.  I know it did me.  In the weeks before he was called home, all he could talk about was his family and how he loved the times he got together with everyone.  He and I sat on my front porch and he looked at me eye to eye and told me not to cry.  Dale was such a big part of so many lives, and even at the end, he never wanted to make it hard on anyone.

Dale is survived by his mother Georgia P. Anderson; children Meredith and William Brandon White of Eustace, Texas; grandchildren Bailey Billings, Breanna White, and Davis Billings, all of Eustace, Texas; siblings Timothy Richards of Austin, Texas, Richard Bubba Richards of Kemp, Texas, Rodney and Priscilla of Eustace, Texas, Robin Young of Mabank, Texas, Rhonda and Robert Kemp of Glen Rose, Texas, Ernest Rink and Dana of Mabank, Texas, Tommy and Beverly Gilbert of Mabank, Texas, Rowdy and Hollie Gilbert of Midlothian, Texas;  nephew and niece Lewis and Christi Thomasson of Athens, Texas, niece and nephew Nickie and Martin Gonzalez of Rice, Texas; and his birthday twin great-nephew A.J. Ashford of Rice, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his father Richard E. Richards; sister Laura R. Cantu.
