Raymond Lane McAlister-Smith, 24, passed away on July 31, 2022. He was born on October 28, 1997, in Dallas, Texas, to parents Richard Warren Smith and Carla Ann McAlister. His sister, Lynsey McAlister-Smith, was seven years old when he was born, and she loved her baby brother with all her heart.
Lane spent most of his childhood in Mesquite, Texas. When he was 13, he moved to Gun Barrel City to live with his dad, Richard Smith. Lane loved being at Cedar Creek Lake, on or near the water or in the woods. Those were his favorite places. Hunting and fishing was his passion in life. Lane graduated from Mabank High School in 2016. He then went on to work at Trico Pipe and Steel in Gun Barrel City, worked there for several years, and always worked hard. Lane made a job change in 2020 and went to work for Anytime Marine out of Seven Points, Texas. He absolutely loved his job there, and the entire crew became part of his family.
He grew up to be a wonderful young man who always stood by his beliefs. He was a fun-loving, beautiful soul, always joking around and just being Lane. His spirit will live on in each and every one of us through past memories and future experiences.
Lane is survived by his mother Carla Ann McAlister, his father Richard Warren Smith and wife Cheryl, and his sister Lynsey McAlister-Smith.
