Ralph Wright Templin, 74, was born on June 27, 1936 in Lewisville, TX to the late Thomas William and Ada Lilly Templin; passed on October 23, 2010 at his home in Payne Springs, TX. He grew up with his 3 brothers and 3 sisters in Ellis County. He joined the U.S. Army in 1954 and received several accommodations and certificates, he was given an honorable discharge in 1957 and continued his service in the Army Reserves until 1962. Ralph was successful salesman working for J.G. Boyd Appliance, Modern Age Appliance and retired from Sears in 1999 and has lived at Cedar Creek Lake with his current wife, Shirley for 29 years. One of his favorite past times was cooking on the grill for his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife Maggie Templin, sisters Pauline Henry and Alyne Cook and his brother Jack Templin; also his step grandson Shane Anderson and stepdaughter Debbie Anderson. Left To cherish his memory are his wife Shirley Templin of Payne Springs, Sister Evelyn Holt of Italy, TX, brothers Sonny Templin and Jake Templin both of Arlington, TX; daughter Becky Shelton and husband Bob of McKinney; son Ralph Wayne Templin and wife Kim of Athens, son Steve Templin and wife Mary of Payne Springs and daughter Julie Seymore and husband Randy of Wilsonville, OR. Ralph was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Krista Garcia, Justin Harris, DeAnna Smith, Joseph Harris, Jaime Taylor, CaSandra McKinney, Jonathan Harris and Kambra Templin; stepchildren David Reneau and Dennis Massey. His step grandchildren include Randi Ferrell, Carson Anderson, Michael B. Moore, Matthew Anderson, Samantha Melgar and Cassie Reneau. Ralph was also blessed with a total of 11 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He has a host of friends, some of which he worked out with at the Olympic Center over the last few years. Funeral service will be 12:30 PM at Moorhead Epps Memorial Chapel in Gun Barrel City, TX with David Johnston officiating. Burial followed at Bells Chapel Cemetery in Rocket, TX. under the direction of Moorhead Epps Funeral Home of Gun Barrel City.
