Patsy Ann Hancock, 78, passed away on November 28, 2022. She was born on February 5, 1944, in Irving, Texas, to parents General Lowell Bates and Nora Elder Clements Bates.
She married the love of her life, Don Hancock, on October 9, 1959, when she was 15 years old, and he was 18. They just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Patsy was an active member of Lakeview Assembly of God in Seven Points, Texas. She taught Sunday School and Children’s Church. She also taught Girl's Ministry for 18 years. When she was no longer able to teach, she missed it so much and often wished she was still able. Patsy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Don Hancock; daughters Shariece Ann Hancock James, Karen Kay Hancock Strawser, and Connie Linn Hancock Holland; grandchildren Kevin James and fiancé Nitasha Slagle, Michael Strawser, Dustin Strawser, and Brooke Holland; great-grandchildren Nevaeh Strawser, Khaden Strawser, Rhylee Strawser, Kaley Strawser, and Aubree Lei James; brother Ralph Bates; sister Sherry Auby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Patsy is preceded in death by her father General Lowell Bates and mother Nora Elder Buzby, grandson Billy E. James II, four brothers, and one sister.
Pastor Don Bell will officiate for the Hancock family.
Pallbearers are Kevin James, Michael Strawser, Dustin Strawser, John Miller, and Christian Savis.
