Patrick Kyle Lewis 39 was born December 8, 1972 in Dallas, TX to the home of Billy Joe "B.J." and Patti Ann Ashley Lewis and passed away at 7:06 pm on April 3, 2012 in Tyler, TX. Mr. Lewis attended schools in Garland, TX and graduated from South Garland H.S. During his professional career he worked primarily as an assistant manager or manager of various retail customer service venues in Dallas, TX, Gun Barrel City, TX, Athens, TX, Shreveport, LA, and most recently in Eustace, TX. Nonetheless, those chores and toils were primarily endured in order to support his labor of true love which was a lifelong dedication to music and art. At an early age he taught himself "by ear" to play an electric guitar. Over time he added the keyboard and drums to his repertoire of instruments which he mastered. He enjoyed writing song lyrics and composing original music to accompany the lyrics. On several occasions and during different time periods he performed on stage with local area band including "Chester Arthur" in the Dallas, TX area. While most of his works went unpublished, one of his greatest joys of achievement occurred when 13 of his original songs/instrumentals were recorded and published. Among his highly talented artistic accomplishments he also created many oil paintings, and of those, the renderings which he favored most had geometric triangles as the focal points and primary subject matter. His paintings inspired one of his favorite sayings of: "Try My Angle." Another favorite musing of his was: "The 'Truth' may exist 180 degrees from the direction in which it is most often sought". As a multi decade cancer survivor he was magnanimously gifted with courage, endurance and perseverance... the prerequisites of a brave and true "Gallanteer" . He was preceded in death by his grandparents Alton and Nan Lewis of Eustace, TX. and Lewis Ashley of Garland, TX. Survivors include his father Billy Joe "B.J." Lewis of Eustace, TX. mother Patti Ann Ashley Lewis of Seven Points, TX. sister Kymberly Shannon Lewis of Caddo Mills TX., brother Billy Shane "Bil" Lewis and his wife Tish, nephew Zachary Lewis, niece Sydney Lewis, all of The Colony, TX. grandmother Patsy Ashley, uncle John Ashley, aunt Linda Ashley all of Seven Points, TX. girlfriend Alex Hudson of Eustace, TX. and numerous other loving family members and many friends. Funeral services for Kyle will be at 3:01 PM Friday April 6, 2012 at the Moorhead Epps Funeral Home Chapel in Gun Barrel City, TX. with Pastor Bryon Stuckey officiating. Burial will follow at Moorehead-Melton Cemetery in Eustace, TX. Pall bearers will be Keith Stuckey, Dana Jones, Shawn Stringer, Boyd Sanders, David Ashley and Zach Young.
