Patricia Marie Polk, 53, passed away on July 26, 2020. She was born on October 29, 1966, in Miami, Florida, to the home of L.J. and Beulah Arther.
Patty graduated from Mabank High School and still remained close with some of her friends. She then went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree from TVCC in Criminal Justice. Patty worked as a K9 handler for DADS (Dogs Against Drugs) in Athens, Texas, for eight years while also working for Kramers Construction, helping build and remodel homes. She was a creative individual and enjoyed drawing, writing, and listening to music. She had a strong faith and shared that with her family and friends. She loved her family more than anything; her whole life was about her kids and grandkids. They saw each other almost every day. Patty will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children Christy Dawson and husband Chris of Athens, Texas, Nikki Polk of Athens, Texas, Skylier Murrell and husband Joseph of Brownsboro, Texas, and Brandy Baker of Athens, Texas; grandchildren Raven, Caydance, and CJ Dawson of Athens, Texas; grandchildren David and Holden Murrell of Brownsboro, Texas; brother Richard Arther and wife Christina of Frisco, Texas; mother-in-law Patricia Slaton of Henderson, Texas; sister-in-law Jennifer Wright of Athens, Texas; nephews Jack and Luke Arther of Frisco, Texas; nieces Charleigh and Dakota Arther of Frisco, Texas; as well as numerous loved ones and friends.
Patty is preceded in death by her parents, and special friends Terry Small and Stirling Taylor.
