Pamelia Blankenship, 65, passed away on August 22, 2024 in Athens, Texas. She was born on September 23, 1958 in Dallas, Texas to parents Fred and Dessie (Mason) Thomas.
For many years, Pamelia served as an animal control officer, where her passion for helping animals shone through. She dedicated herself to her work, always advocating for those who could not speak for themselves. Outside her career she was mainly a homemaker, creating a warm and nurturing environment for her family and friends.
Pamelia was known for her ability to light up a room, her personality was as bright as her laughter. She had a unique gift for knowing just the right words to comfort those around her, always ready to lend a supportive hand or a listening ear. It was said of her that she didn't have a selfish bone in her body, as she consistently put others before herself, helping countless people throughout her life.
Her greatest joys came from the simple things. Pamelia loved her dogs dearly, often spending time outdoors fishing or enjoying the company of her beloved pets. Her affection for her four-legged friends was evident, showcasing her compassionate spirit. Being with friends brought her happiness, and she cherished the moments they shared together.
Among her proudest accomplishments was becoming a grandmother, a role she embraced with open arms. Her heart expanded even more when she became a great-grandma, finding immense pleasure and fulfillment in her growing family. She was an awesome mother, grandma, and great-grandma and she will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Pamelia is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Dessie Thomas.
Left to cherish Pamelia’s memory are her daughter, Denease Grant of Mabank, Texas; daughter, Haley Brown of Canton, Texas; son, Michael Fleming of Kansas; and boyfriend, Danny Moulder.
