Ona Mae Horton

Ona Mae Horton, 93, passed away on April 22, 2021.  She was born on November 20, 1927, in Rice, Texas.

She loved to listen to gospel music; her favorite gospel singer was Jimmy Swaggart, who she enjoyed watching on TV.  Her favorite song, however, was the Star Spangled Banner.  Ona liked going to the casinos and buying scratch-off lottery tickets.  She enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Ona will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her, especially her sons Bobby Don Horton and Steve Horton, who were her caretakers for the past 20 years.

She is survived by her children Bobby Don Horton, Steve Horton, Keith Horton, and Kimberly Tipton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Junior Patterson; sisters Joyce Taylor and Joann Kerens.

Ona is preceded in death by her parents; husband George Horton; son Jerry Wayne Horton; daughter Jimmie Sue Hartline.

Bro. Ed Shauer, with First Church of the Nazarene in Gun Barrel City, Texas, will officiate for the Horton family.

Pallbearers are Bobby Don Horton, Steve Horton, Loyd Tipton, and Leonard Hartline.
