Olga May Hamilton, or Mimi as she was known to her little grand loves, was born on May 25, 1937 in Cheshire, England to Percy and Polly Stanford. She entered Heaven's gates on June 11, 2016.
Mimi met and married a handsome soldier, Russell Hamilton, and they had three beautiful children, Lisa, Laura, and John. She lost Russ in 1973, and her world was crushed again when she lost her son, John, in 1989.
Through the sadness, she found a Ray of sunshine. She met her husband, Ray Huffhines, through golfing friends at the local country club and it was a hole in one. The newlyweds traveled across the country playing golf for several years until Ray was called home to Heaven in 1996.
A loving sister, mother, and grandmother, her home was always a welcome place for her family. She loved to bake and holidays were always full of great food and fun family adventures. Mimi took her children and grandchildren on many traveling adventures across the country and sometimes across the sea. Mimi had many hobbies. She was very athletic and loved to swim and she was an excellent golfer. She won the club championship more than once. She loved to tend her many flowers and plants, but loved her beautiful roses most of all. She lost her favorite purple rose, her daughter Laura, in 2009.
Over the years Mimi worked in sales at M&M Fashion, was a beautician at Gwen's Beauty Shop, and worked for several years at Cedar Lake Home Health and Hospice. For many years after her retirement, she could still be found at Cedar Lake working on files before an audit. She was always there to offer a helping hand or a listening ear to anyone who needed her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her brother Ronald and sisters Madge, Anne, and Linda, daughter Lisa and her husband Kenny, her grandchildren Amber Roberts, Amie Allen, Ashley and Scott Sholar, Matt and Erica Allen, Joshua Jarman, Aaron Barina, Tara Barina, and Maegan Hamilton, her great grandchildren Micayla, Shelby, Emma, Wil, Carlie, Conner, Kiera, Lilyanne, Skylar, Addyson, and Everly, her great granddaughter, Blakely, and several nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Percy and Polly, her sisters Betty and Connie, her husbands Russ and Ray, her children Laura and John, and her special sweetie, Bob.
