Michael Jimmy Thomas, Sr.

Michael Jimmy Thomas, Sr., (Mike), my husband and best friend for twenty-five years, passed away at home on July 9, 2021.  He was born on December 16, 1951, in Gideon, MO, to parents James Richard Thomas, Jr. and Doris Glenda McConnell Thomas.

He was born in Missouri yet moved around until he settled in Texas.  As an entrepreneur, he succeeded at many businesses, including home improvement, tire shop, firewood, and we currently own and operate an RV park where tenants have loved and respected him.  Our love of camping and traveling, from tent to motorhome, has made for many memorable times.  Mike was a gun collector and had a passion for trucks.  His sense of humor could make anyone smile.  He will be greatly missed by all family and friends who will honor his legacy.

Mike is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kathy Hayes Thomas; father James Richard Thomas, Jr.; children Michael J. Thomas, Jr., Tiffany K. Williams, Kimberly D. Dennie and husband Josh, Kristin L. Southall, and Erik D. Southall; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister Teresa Thomas-Knox and husband Chris.

He is preceded in death by his mother Doris McConnell Yule; step-father Larry Yule; brother Richard Thomas; son-in-law Michael Williams.
