Michael David Watson, Jr.

Michael David Watson, Jr., 54, passed away on March 11, 2020.  He was born on December 7, 1965, in Smyra, Tennessee, at the Sewart Air Force Base hospital, to Michael David Watson, Sr. and wife Dorothy.

Michael worked at Walmart in Gun Barrel City, Texas, for 23 years.  He was a hard worker, and many of his fellow employees considered him the hardest working employee in the store and had been named employee of the month on numerous occasions.  He was very kind to the elderly, helping carry out their purchases.  Several customers even requested him personally to assist them.  He was also responsible for keeping carts gathered and out of the parking lot, which everyone appreciated.  The greatest enjoyment Michael had was taking a trip to Disney World with his brother Matthew.  Michael will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his parents; brothers Matthew Scott Watson and Mark Andrew Watson and fiance Kelly Brewer; aunt Madeline Kay Grantham and husband David; five cousins Marjorie Grantham, Bryant Grantham and wife Nicole, Alice Thrower and husband Jim, David Richardson, and John Albert Richardson and wife Penny.

Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joan Watson, Vernon Watson, Gladys Applewhite, and Albert Applewhite; aunt Elizabeth Ann Edelman; and uncle John Richardson.
