Maudie Sorrells

Maudie Faye Sorrells was born on January 21, 1922 to the home of Tom and Amanda Carroll; passed away on October 8, 2010 in Athens, Texas. Maudie was a wonderful woman; she had 6 children and loved them from the top of their heads to their toes. She was not only a good wife, mother and friend; she was married to her husband Bill for 64 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Amanda Carroll; husband William (Bill) Sorrells; daughter Doris Ann Sorrells;, son William Carroll Sorrells, sisters Mary Lightfoot and Dorothy Patterson, brothers Tom (Son) and Robert Carroll. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Brenda Followwell, Jean Sorrells and Billie Forrester, son Toby Sorrells; 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Moorhead Epps Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City, TX on October 12, 2010 at 10:00. Interment was at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
