Matthew Scott Watson, 49, passed away on November 3, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Eustace, Texas. He was born on March 22, 1974, in Woodland Hills, California to parents Michael David and Dotty Jane (Applewhite) Watson.
Matthew earned an associate in agriculture from TVCC, dedicating himself to gain knowledge and expertise in his field. Throughout his life, he showcased his skills and love for farming, particularly in working with Black Angus cattle. For Matthew, working with these majestic creatures was more than just a job; it was his true calling. He took immense pride in breeding them and ensuring their well-being.
In addition to his devotion to cattle farming, Matthew had a special place in his heart for Dobermans. His dog, Cooper, brought joy and companionship into Matthew's life. He wholeheartedly enjoyed spending time with him and showering him with love. He as well, had a love for capturing eagles that would land on his property
Matthew was an avid Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys fan, cherishing the excitement that came with being a dedicated fan. Beyond all these interests and hobbies, what truly defined Matthew's character was his genuine concern for others. Known for being personable and approachable, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed assistance or guidance. Matthew believed in the power of kindness and made it a point to spread positivity wherever he went.
Matthew is preceded in death by his brother, Michael David Watson Jr., maternal grandparents, Gladys and Albert Applewhite, paternal grandparents, Joan Agnes and Vernon Aubrey Watson.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Michael and Dotty of Eustace, TX; brother, Mark Andrew Watson of Eustace, TX; uncle, David B. Grantham and wife Kay of Mt. Juliet, TN.
