After a day of visiting with many friends and family, Mary Sonya Askew went home to be with our Lord and Savior on 4/7/2013. Mary Sonya Askew was born on born 2/20/1941; daughter of RV Smith and Bessie Hightower of Mt. Park, OK. Preceded in death by husband of 51 years Byron Gene Askew.
brother Tommy Smith and sister Phyllis Anderson. Survived by brother Ronnie Smith and wife Charlene. Sonya and Gene had 3 children - Randy Gene and wife Jennifer, Debbie Lynn and husband Tim both of Texas and Vicki Eubanks and husband David of Oklahoma. 7 grandchildren, Aimee Thomas and husband Scott, Spencer Askew, Lindsey Burr and husband Nathan, Emily Lynn, Justin Lynn, Morgan Lynn, Austin Napier and Zachary Eubanks. 4 step grandchildren, Jared Shad and wife Nina of Texas, David Eubanks, Tiffany Cagle and husband Justin of Oklahoma and David Ault of Michigan.3 great grandchildren - Banner, Avery and Izzabelluh, 9 step gr. grandchildren - Paige, Ty, Kolby, Zach, Nathaniel, Jacob, Elizabeth, Abby and Montanaand more family than can possibly be mentioned in this short space. She was loved deeply by each and everyone of them.

Sonya was loved and enjoyed by so many and she loved her friends and family and church family more than anyone could ever fully understand or appreciate.

Sonya worked for many years in various jobs to help support her family. She loved doing crafts, painting, spending time going to her grandchildrens ball games and much to the dismay of may of the family, Sonya was an avid OU fan to the end.
