Marilou Syler Womack, of Eustace, Texas, passed away on January 2, 2021, at the age of 67. Syler was born on August 8, 1953, to Omar Blake Rowland and Margaret Ann Syler of San Angelo.
After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in 1971, she went on to study journalism at Texas A&M University. While in college, she accompanied fellow student Dennis Womack on a blind date to an Aggie football game. They wed in 1975, going on to have five children: Chisum, Forrest, Crockett, Stuart, and Seguin. Syler dedicated her life to homeschooling her children and instructing them in the Catholic faith.
Syler was preceded in death by her husband Dennis; parents Blake and Peggy; uncles Matthew, Scott, and James Syler; and her cousin, Bentley Syler.
She is survived by her son Chisum and his wife Erin, and their children Rivers, Rose, and Athanasius; son Forrest and his wife Jenny, and their sons Augustine, Ignatius, Theodore, and Finnian; son Crockett and his wife Rachel, and their children Ann, Nolan, and Lucy; daughter Stuart Giles and husband Samuel, and their daughters Ada, Alice, and Amelia; and daughter Seguin Fonseca and husband Nuno, and their children Julia, Anthony, and Gabriel. Also surviving are numerous beloved cousins and aunts.
