Lola Marie (Hartson) Reynolds

February 15, 1936 — April 20, 2025

Mabank, Texas

Lola Marie (Hartson) Reynolds, beloved mother and granny to many, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the age of 89 in her home in Gun Barrel City, TX. She was born February 15, 1936, Dallas, TX, to Hugh Milner Hartson & Marie (Gibbs) Hartson. The youngest child of the family, Lola grew up surrounded by multiple generations of loved ones and her love of family was a theme throughout her life.

Young Lola was a vivacious redhead who loved playing softball throughout her childhood and teen years, and was the pitcher for her high school team, winning multiple district championships. In 1953, Lola married James Reynolds, and they shared a lifetime of love and memories together with their children Jimmy and Brenda. Lola loved to play cards and dominoes with friends, and board games with her grandchildren. She was an incredible cook, creating comforting homemade meals for anyone who walked through her door. Lola was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who would do anything for her family and was always there to celebrate their successes and support them in their struggles.

While her first love may have been her family, her second love was her Texas Rangers baseball team. Lola was passionate about the Rangers and loved them, win or lose. She was always ready to talk to you about how the team was doing any given season. She was a woman of faith, who found comfort in scripture. In her later years, she kept a Bible in multiple rooms, always close at hand, with notes of verses to revisit.

It is safe to say that her legacy is one of love and compassion and she will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love her.

Lola is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Reynolds; daughter, Brenda Chambers; siblings, Lonnie Moss Hartson, Robert Wade Hartson, and Eula Blanche Bartlett.

Lola is survived by her son, Jimmy Reynolds, of Lake Chapala, Mexico; son-in-law, Allen Chambers, of Gun Barrel City, TX; grandchildren, Laura King and husband Mark Dalal, of Mckinney, TX; James Reynolds and wife Allison, of Bonham, TX; Tiffany Chambers, of Malkoff, TX; Joshua Reynolds, of Euless, TX; and Shawna Green and husband Adolphus, of Red Oak, TX; Lola is also survived by great-grandchildren, Eleanor King, Adrien Chambers, Rowen Karnes, Genevieve Reynolds, Finley Reynolds, Sean Green, and Trenton Green.
