Lois Marie Scherer

Lois Marie Scherer, 67, passed away on April 17, 2022.  She was born on September 25, 1954, to parents Tom Roys and Autry Greenwell Roys.

Lois started out living in Pleasant Grove, Texas.  In 1968, her family moved to Duncanville, Texas, and she graduated from Duncanville High School in 1973.  She then attended Arlington Baptist University.

In 1982, she married the love of her life, Ron Scherer, and they were married for over 40 years.  Lois was a sweet, loving wife.  She was kind, soft-spoken, and always willing to help others.  Lois was a devout Christian.  She loved to support and pray for others; her friends called her the “prayer warrior.”  She enjoyed cooking and was an excellent cook.  Lois loved her pet dogs, Tipper and Holly, gardening, sewing, and working puzzles.  She also enjoyed fishing and driving the boats.  Lois will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Reed Scherer, and sisters, Berlinda Hernandez and Yvonne Massie.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Ernest Roys and Tommy Roys.

Pastor Ed Shauer, with First Church of the Nazarene in Gun Barrel City, Texas, will officiate for the Sherer family.
