Lisa (Stears) Gillreath

January 29, 1956 — September 4, 2024

Princeton, Texas

Lisa (Stears) Gillreath, 68, passed away on September 4, 2024, in McKinney, Texas. She was born on January 29, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois to parents Karl and Marilyn (Oostmyer) Stears.

A cherished wife and beloved friend, Lisa was known for her sweet and quiet demeanor. Though she spoke sparingly, she had a clever understated sense of humor that could catch you off guard. Lisa married Larry Gillreath on June 27, 1997, in Des Plaines, Illinois. Their journey together was marked by love and shared experiences, including a fondness for karaoke—a place where they first crossed paths. Their love story blossomed, and together they created a nurturing home filled with warmth and joy.

An avid reader, Lisa particularly enjoyed the thrill of James Patterson's novels, losing herself in a good book whenever she had a chance. She also enjoyed knitting and loved to cook, often delighting those around her with her culinary creations. These hobbies added richness to her life and served as a source of comfort and enjoyment.

Lisa is preceded in death by parents, Karl and Marilyn Stears; and brother, David Stears.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 27 years, Larry Gillreath of Princeton, Texas; stepdaughter, Jennifer Gooch and husband John of Plano, Texas; stepdaughter, Megan Gillreath of Austin, Texas; step-grandson, Thomas Gooch of Plano, Texas; and step-granddaughter, Natalie Gooch of Plano, Texas.
