Lillian Lucille Gayton

January 22, 1957 — December 7, 2019

Lillian Lucille Gayton was born January 22, 1957, in Simmesport, LA to parents Milton Duff and Louise Sinquefield, and entered into eternal rest on December 07, 2019, in Athens, TX.  Lucille was a devout Christian woman who loved studying the bible and was at church every opportunity she had.  She was a loyal wife and described as a “Proverbs 31 woman."  Lucille loved her family unconditionally and adored her grandchildren.  She was a well-educated woman, earning several degrees, including her BA in Elementary Education.  She was hardworking and kind.  In her free time, she enjoyed scouting with her grandsons and granddaughter, studying her bible, and taking care of her family. Lucille graduated from O. Perry Walker High School in 1975 and went on to further her education at Liberty College University, Louisiana College, and American School of Business.  She taught children for many years and later worked as a clerk at Texas Health and Human Services.  Lucille was a member of Restoration Church for many years, and enjoyed children’s ministry, Royal Rangers, and going on missionary trips.  Lucille attended Trinity Valley Tres Dias #1, served on the board of directors, and was very active in the Tres Dias Community for many years. On July 03, 2003, she married the love her of life, Anthony Gayton Sr.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents Milton and Louise and her stepfather Carol Singquefield.

She is survived by her husband Anthony Gayton Sr.; daughter Christine Wingard and husband Donald Wingard of Eustace; stepson Anthony Gayton Jr. and girlfriend Breshe Hill of Dallas; grandchildren Madeline Wingard, Kathleen Wingard, Sarah Wingard, Caroline Wingard, Beckah Wingard, James Trahan, Faith Wingard, TJ Wingard, Lillian Capri Wingard, Jaxon Gayton, and Jason Gayton; brother Joseph Duff; sisters Gwen Nelms, Genae Bato and husband William; and many other family members and lifelong friends.
