Lee Ammon Van Winkle was born to the home of Lee Ammon Van Winkle, Sr. and Virginia Talbott Van Winkle, in Baltimore, MD on September 3, 1940; passed away on April 11, 2010 in Athens, Texas, at the age of 69. He played guitar and was lead singer with the band The Shadow's Four, Ltd. who he managed, he served his country with the special forces in Vietnam, he was a businessman who owned and operated a bowling alley, sold insurance, drove a truck for Stevens Transport and C F I. Lee resided in Seven Points, TX prior to his death.
Left to cherish his memory are his dear companion, Karen Sharpe; daughters, Brandy McCallie and Sham Bartlett; grandchildren, Scottie McCallie, Shalyn McCallie, Miranda Pidgue, Rebel Ray Bartlett; brothers, William "Bill" Van Winkle and David Van Winkle; sisters, Barbara Cokerell, Jane Harding, Margaret Bailey, the mother of his children Marsha Van Winkle, other loving family members and many long time friends. Lee is preceded in death by his parents, brother Henry VanWinkle, and his sister Elizabeth Van Winkle.
