Lawrence "Larry" Boehnlein, 87, passed away on September 2, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on August 29, 1937, in Louisville, Kentucky to parents Louis and Ruth (Roberts) Boehnlein.
Lawrence, a revered figure known for his unwavering integrity and commitment to service, proudly served in the United States Air Force from October 1, 1955, until December 3, 1957, embodying the spirit of service and leadership that defined his later endeavors. His career included significant roles with the Census Bureau and various positions within the private sector, including notable work at Pillsbury in Dennison, Texas, Harts Bakery in Duncanville, Texas, and Fresh Advantage in Houma, Louisiana, as well as Grand Prairie, Texas. After a fulfilling career, he retired in 2003 and moved to Texas in 2004, where he continued to inspire others through his faith and community involvement.
A man of diverse interests, Lawrence enjoyed spending his leisure time engaging in activities that reflected his love for life. He was passionate about golf, relished watching college football, and found joy in fishing. His appreciation for fireworks brought happiness not only to himself but also to those around him, as he shared this fondness with family and friends. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ruth Boehnlein; and brother, Lou Boehnlein.
Lawrence is survived by lifelong friend, neighbor, and sister, Cindy Riggs and children Rob Harris and Theresa Jasperson, great friend, Brad Bartlett and wife Beverly of Granbury, Texas; friend, Roy Bartlett and wife Judy of Wisconsin; close friend, Jim Taylor of California; as well as many other extended family and friends who love him dearly.
