Larry Lodes
September 21, 1935 — July 14, 2016
Larry Conrad Lodes, 80 years of age, was called home to be with the Lord on July 14, 2016. Larry was born September 21, 1935, to Lawrence and Bertie Faye Lodes in Elgin, Oklahoma. Larry was raised in Duncan, Oklahoma where he married the mother of his children, F. Lee Newman, April 18, 1954.
Larry moved to Duncanville, Texas to raise his family and served on the Dallas Police Department for many years before retiring to Cedar Creek Lake where he opened a grocery store/gas station/café. Larry spent the last 30 years of his life living on the lake in Payne Springs with his dogs, enjoying the lake and his friends and neighbors.
Left to cherish his memories are his four children, Catherine O’Brien of Garland, Texas, Michael Lodes of Bastrop, Texas; Kevin Lodes of Payne Springs, Texas; Sondra Lodes of Lago Vista, Texas. Larry is survived by two siblings, Norma Jean Limmer of Waxahachie, Texas and Robert Duane Lodes of San Antonio, Texas, as well as seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
