Kenneth H. Hood II, 65 of Gun Barrel City, Texas passed away on December 14, 2018. He was born on August 21, 1953 in Dallas, Texas to the home of Kenneth Haskell I & Teresa Mary Margaret Deans Hood.
Ken graduated from Bishop Dunn High School in Dallas. Earlier in his adult life he loved playing music, any and all kinds of blues and rock and roll. He worked for Southwestern Bell and later in the pro shop for Hilltop Lanes, DB’s bowling alley and Lakeplex Lanes. He loved bowling, probably more than his kids at times. He worked in the pro shop drilling and selling bowling balls for about 30 years, starting out as a hobby eventually leading to a career. In Ken’s spare time he enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks. He cherished spending time with his family and friends.
Ken is survived by his children Deborah “Nikki” Hood & her companion Chris and Lisa Moore & her husband Jerod; 5 grandchildren Alicia, Tyler, Sky, Brandon and Baine; brother Dean Kelsey & his wife Debbie; sisters Connie Avera & her husband Winston and Chimene Kelsey; father – in – law Jack Martell; and his companion Theresa “Tree” Ritchey. Ken has many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents; a mother - in - law Jeanne Martell and his wife of 32 years Deborah Hood.
Bro. Danny Moore with New Life Baptist Church in Greenville, Texas will officiate for the Hood family.
