Joyce Ann Thomas Mixon
September 17, 1943 — January 25, 2017
Joyce was born September 17, 1943 in Dallas, Texas to Grover and Ruby Raper Thomas and died January 25, 2017 at the age of 73 at her home with her family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband George Earl Mixon, Son Bodie Joe Mills, Brother Benny Thomas, Grandson Chance Mills and Sister-In-Law Jane Thomas.
She married her soulmate and best friend George Earl Mixon on September 14, 1974, for 38 years she loved being a stay at home housewife.
She was survived by six daughters; Vickie and Husband Jerry Trammell of Ruston, LA., Sherrie and Husband Richard Guzman of Ruston, LA., Neta and husband Rodney Hendrickson of Shreveport, LA., Megan Dewit of Sioux Falls, SD., Sherrie and Husband James Luman of Mabank, TX and Martha and Husband Darrell DeRusha of Rice, TX. Two Sons Slade Mills and Cody Mills of Ruston, LA.
She was blessed with 27 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Siblings are Leo Thomas and Jerry Thomas of Lovington, NM., and Gary Thomas of Hobbs, NM., and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was a member of Central Baptist Church of Mabank since 1990.
Her lifelong passion was painting, cooking and spending time with her family and Sister-In-Law Sandy Thomas.
Joyce has many other family members and a host of friends that she greatly loved; She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Brother Richard Fulton from the Central Baptist Church in Mabank, Texas will be officiating for the Mixon family.
